Science's Doomsday Team vs. the Asteroids!
This WaPo article is one of the most inclusive articles I have seen in some time concerning the posible danger of an asteroid bumping into us, and REALLY giving us a seriously bad day. It also explains why the "fix" presented in the movie Armageddon in '98 is probably NOT the way to go to try to deal with one of these. Also, it reports on a fairly large but subfatal stone called "2004MN4" will approach us within 15000-25000 miles - an astronomical hair's width!
